The latest novel is thrown on the shelf
Of end's of the twentieth century,
like the dust of ancient times -
Another era closed the eyelids time's,
Like a sea fog the coastal shelf,
stealthly.
Ships in hurry to the piers past the mol.
They don't look like ours at all.
Their outline as from paintings Dali. In all weather,
Are flopping over the ships the flags of shagreen leather.
But maybe it just seems that way to us? -
The walls of eternity didn't collapse,
Only the wreckage of our fate, as life's host,
Are flickering in night like a crowd of ghosts?
