Раз на рік лише церква чудова
Піднімається з моря синього.
Тож з'їжджаються і дивуються
Славні витязі через море те.
А могутній князь, в золотім дворці,
Засватан кільцем з синім морем вже.

Моря цариця, Веденець славний!
Тихо вагається вітер свіженький;
Синє аж море, синє аж небо!
Над синім морем царюй лагідно,

Місяць сяє з нічного неба,
Дів чорнокудрих пісні несуться,
Чуються лютні дзвінкі там струни.

Only once a year the church wonderful
Rises from the blue sea entirely
They come close to it and show surprise,
They’r glorious knights from across the sea.
And the mighty doge, in the gold chateau,
Engaged with a ring to a bright blue sea.
Beautiful city, t’happyest city
Queen of the sea, you, glorious Venice!
The cool wind there is softly fluttering;

The moon shines from the night firmament
The blue sea’s lapsing quietly.
Black-haired maidens poor out sweet songs,
Lute ringing strings are distinctly heard.
