Every now and then I think of you,
My sweethearts!
Of how your lavish Love defined
My whole existence:
As someone playing roles of
"How To Human" -
From very early teens onto becoming
A young woman.
Every now and then I reminisce,
My lovelies!
Of how your bounteous Souls defined
Benevolence and kindness:
Your values guided me through life
Akin light beacons -
Safeguarding me from being
Beaten down and weakened!
Every now and then you crack me up,
My jokesters!
Your buoyancy and wit defined
My scope of humour and emotions.
You've taught me how to laugh
My tribulations in the face:
Self-serious pretensions
Would just stand no chance -
And I'm afloat and managing
To keep myself apace!
Every now and then
I can't believe
How much I love you!
There is no one else
To steer me through
Life's bayou.
Every now and then the world was weeping
Over John and George no longer being with us.
Now - we're crying with you: loudly; softly; freely!
We embrace each other and are truly healing.
There can be no end to our affections.
We do not expect golden perfection!
