I am fisherman

Христин Дичоса
I am a fisherman.

I cast my nets, woven of words,

Into the dark depths of a silent world,

Trying to catch the elusive beauty in them,

what is hiding in the shell of its own perfection.

I am a silence catcher.

I am wandering in the desert among the singing sands,

Driven to nowhere by the soul-searing wind,

Thirsty, eager to get drunk

The icy water of silent knowledge.

I am a void catcher.

I was born to see the fluttering fireflies of life

The lights of happiness flash for a moment

And they go out when they touch the cold hand of death,-

an eternal worker who carries on

her shoulders the burdens of the renewal of the world.
