Sonnet 2

Анна Шараева
And but for you my soul would be bleak,
My heart would drown in the darkest depth,
Apart from yours my body would be weak,
My mind would fade away with none who helps.
You are the one who stops the bitter winds,
the one who makes my gardens burst in bloom,
And even winter dares not cast his gloom
Upon the valley where you spread your wings.
Until the Death his duty does perform,
You will return to me whene'er I call
Through piercing rain and heavy snowstorm.
My love and faith will break down any wall,
So you come home and make my cold sheets warm
And let inside our home the stars that fall.
