CIURLIONIS
My darling - let you dream about
us in a desert land, alone -
birds of Ciurlionis* will, no doubt,
bless us with wings and fly along.
We entered this spring world together
and heard: all bells began to strike,
the interweaving streams of air
supported swallows in their flight.
When winter bends the backs of ours
and paints our hair with rimy dye
the winding candles of the flowers
will light our way into the sky.
Then in our quest through angels’ meadows
along the rivers made of stars
the mystic throne of lights and shadows
