Рецензия на «А. Кушнер-Времена не выбирают - In English» (Александр Гивенталь)
I had to pause at "Scarlet's fever"... In my mind this evokes an infatuation with Miss Scarlet rather than scarlet fever, a type of streptococcal infection. Или я чего-то не поняла у Кушнера, у него ведь просто скарлатина? Please take this critique lightly. I admire your very ingenious translations, despite their occasional "foreign" turns of speech. It has been a further pleasure to view your translations properly formatted and set side by side with the originals on your Berkeley website. I had also read the moving tribute to your great teacher! Dear Kli,
Thanks for the critique. You are right: "Scarlet's fever" should be "scarlet fever". Your reading my translation led me, naturally, to browse your page, and enjoyed a lot what I found there (and in the last couple of days I was constantly quoting some of your limericks). You write very well - it's a pity you've stopped (... writing?, posting?) Regards, Alexander Александр Гивенталь 20.09.2011 04:16 Заявить о нарушении
